mom + wife + writer + copyeditor
Amy Leskowski is in the thick of motherhood, with insights on all stages of life and parenting. Taking cues from Dr. Seuss and every genre of songwriting, her rhyming brings levity and depth to the world around her. Amy is a freelance writer, copyeditor, instructional designer, and content strategist. She spent fifteen years coaching university students and organizational leaders and public speaking on topics of personal growth, life direction, and leadership. Today, she’s a senior instructional designer, creating innovative curriculum for a variety of brands and corporations. She maintains a blog on writing, humorous motherhood, and life perspectives.
Amy’s children’s picture book manuscripts, board book manuscripts, and poems have won multiple awards in kidlit, wordplay, and rhyme. She is active in SCBWI and Julie Hedlund’s 12×12 Challenge, Storyteller Academy, Storystorm, and ReFoReMo and is a graduate of the Children’s Book Academy. She is represented by Keely Boeving at WordServe Literary.
Amy received her computer science engineering degree from the University of Michigan and her manuscript-editing certificate from the University of Chicago. She lives in Kalamazoo, Michigan with her dream team—Dennis, Jack, Trevor, Sydney, and her pups, Slugger and Fenway.
