I am a writer, blogger, speaker, and editor. I’m married to my best friend, and I’m mom to three littles. We eat, sleep, and breathe in Kalamazoo, working and playing in the palm of the mitten state. My kids are public-schooled, over-soccered, and usually snowed-in. You can find my humor and heart on my blog at www.motherhoodblockparty.com
Writer & Editor
This is my team:
Amy Leskowski in the thick of motherhood, with insights on all stages of life and parenting. Taking cues from Dr. Seuss and every genre of songwriting, her rhyming brings levity and depth to the world around her. Amy assists early readers in literacy development, writes and edits content for Cru.org, and has spent the past fifteen years coaching university students and organizational leaders, and speaking on topics of personal growth, life direction, and leadership. She maintains a blog on humorous motherhood and life perspective.
Amy’s children’s picture book manuscript Traffic Jam has won multiple awards, including a first-place Georgia Peach award, a Writer’s Digest award, and a Florida Tapestry award. Her poem “‘Twas the Night Before Motherhood,” the first in a mom-humor gift book series by the same name, also won a Florida Tapestry award.
Amy is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, the KCW Critique Group, Word Weavers International, and has been trained through FCWC. Amy has an engineering degree from the University of Michigan, is completing an editing certificate at the University of Chicago, and has taken several post-graduate courses. Amy is represented by Cyle Young of Hartline Literary Agency.
